Parking:
There is limited parking at the Snowmass Recreation Center. We encourage you to park at the Aspen Middle School, or Brush Creek Intercept lot and use RFTA to get to the start. We will have a bag drop to get gear from the start back to the finish. All gear bags should be placed into the AVSC Transit before your start!

Owlet Racers (3/6km) Bibs will be available at the Start/Finish Tent on Moore Field from 9:00-9:45
Race Description
The Owl Creek Chase is a beloved Nordic ski race that traditionally connects the Snowmass and Aspen communities via scenic and challenging ski traverses.
This year’s course starts at the Snowmass Recreation Center and features a lap around the Snowmass Golf Course before crossing the Two Creeks base area. The long course continues up the iconic “Terminator” climb, followed by a technical descent. Racers then merge onto the Owl Creek Trail, traversing to Buttermilk and Tiehack before crossing the Tiehack bridge. The course flows into the Aspen High School trails and finishes on the Moore fields.
For those seeking a shorter challenge, a condensed version of the race skips the Terminator climb and the High School trails, offering a more approachable option.

Historically, the Owl Creek Chase has been a stop on the USSA SuperTour circuit, a qualifier for other prestigious races, and the culminating event of the Nordic Festival. With its traditional 21k route and deep connection to the Nordic community, this race holds a special place in the hearts of racers and locals alike.

5:30-7:30 am Course Marking
7:00-8:00 Bib Pick Up at Aspen Cross Country Center (For ALL RACERS)
8:00 am 15/30km Owl Creek Chase Mass Start Freestyle
Start will be across from the Black Saddle on the Driving range
Finish will be on Moore Ball Field.
12:30 Cut off time for last finisher. You can keep skiing but the race timing will end!
9:45 am 3/6km Jr Owl Creek
Parking at the Middle School and ski over to start.
Start/Finish will be on Moore Ball Field.

11:30 Lunch opens for all racers at AVSC Clubhouse Post Race
12:45 Raffle and awards
